Hoi Rhapsodoi

Hoi Rhapsodoi are the A Cappella group that specialises in Classical Music, with occasional forays into Gospel, World and Classic Pop/Rock. We are a mixed choir of SATB singers that work without a musical director, sharing the duties of selecting, interpreting and conducting the music equally. We aim to support each other in our music making, to work largely without a musical director, and to have a barrel of fun in the process.

What does this mean in ‘real’ terms? It means that, as a member of Hoi, you’ll have freedom of choice from over four centuries of the best music western culture has been able to produce, with a side order of potentially millennia of human music-making history. You will choose the music, you will have a say in the choir’s interpretation, and you will be doing so with a collection of like-minded, fun-loving students.

Bring on the next year, I say 🙂
